Annual Appeal

Donate to our Annual Appeal

At the end of July we will farewell the 65 Impressionist master works in the Colours of Impressionism exhibition staged in the historic Elder Wing, making way for our new display of Australian Art.

In late 2017 we reopened Gallery 6 as the most recent chapter in our retelling of Australian Art at the Art Gallery of South Australia. We now turn our attention to galleries 1 to 5 - the Elder Wing of Australian Art.

We have launched an appeal to raise funds for this important display. Donate today and be part of the story when Australian Art is presented in a new light in the Elder Wing.

We welcome donations of any amount. All donations of $2 or more are tax deductible. Donate online now

Your support will help us to present our Australian Art collection in the best way possible with contemporary state of the art display techniques.

Acting Director Lisa Slade says:- "Our Australian art collection is the collection we are known for and defined by, both here and internationally. It is one of the most representative collections of Australian Art with holdings of paintings, sculpture, decorative arts, prints, drawings and photographs and we aim to use these rich holdings to reflect on identity, history and our sense of place. The place of Aboriginal art in the broader story of Australian art and the contribution of women artists will be amplified in this new display."

All donations will be acknowledged in the Art Gallery's Articulate magazine. Donations of $1,000 and above will be recognised on a special donor plaque in the Elder Wing.

For those wishing to donate more than $5,000 your tax deductible gift can be made in one payment, or in instalments over two financial years; that is, some before 30 June this year, and the balance in the next financial year by 31 December 2018. Please contact the Benefaction team on 08 8207 7040 or if you have further enquiries.
