Abstracting the Natural World
2-day workshop
Saturday 9 & Sunday 10 August daily from 10am - 4pm
Gilbert Dashorst introduces participants to the relative freedom of still life painting of floral arrangements using abstract elements and techniques. Limited to 20 participants per workshop. Fee: $180, Members $120.

Misty Moderns: exploring tonal realism
2 day workshop
Saturday 13 & Sunday 14 September 10 - 4pm
Presented by Daryl Austin, Head of Painting, Adelaide Central School of Art. This workshop centres on the use of colour and tone to render realistic images. Much admired for the pleasing impressionistic qualities produced in these works, the workshop introduces the basic techniques of tonal realism, utilising oil paints. Fee includes exhibition entry to MISTY MODERNS: Australian Tonalists 1900-1945. Strictly limited to 15 participants. Fee: $180, Members $120.

Just like Heysen!
2 day workshop
Saturday 22 & Sunday 23 November 10 - 4pm
Arthur Phillips, one of the most gifted exponents of watercolour painting in South Australia, presents a unique practical workshop on a variety of the watercolour techniques used by Hans Heysen. Day 1 includes basic tuition and exploration of the works of Hans Heysen in the exhibition at the Art Gallery of South Australia. Day 2 is spent at The Cedars, Heysen's family home and studio near Hahndorf, where participants can experience the landscape that influenced the artist so profoundly.
Fee includes exhibition entry. Limited to 20 participants per workshop. Fee: $180, Members $120.
