Connecting Histories
Collaborate with colleagues and investigate how the Art Gallery of SA and SA Museum's unique collections and exhibitions can be used in support of the Australian History Curriculum. This program explores how you might use our collections to connect to:
• key historical concepts
• program descriptors for different year levels
• resource-based teaching and learning strategies
Date: Tuesday, 10 April
Time: 10.00am-4.00pm
Suitable: Years F-7 teachers
Fee: $45 - includes refreshments and lunch

Personalised Group Sessions for Teachers
Teaching sessions for school teachers R-SACE are available and are conducted by the Education Officer by arrangement.

Broad areas that can be discussed are:

Art Gallery as a cross-curriculum resource

Art – world, traditions, history, industry, the artists, ideas and language – traditional to contemporary

­Society – art works as windows on history and social systems

Cultures – cultural identity, belief systems and traditions

Environment – relationship with nature and the environment documented or expressed through art

­Ideas – individual voices, imagination, expression and communication

Technology – art documenting technological change and art as the product of technology

Science – art and artists extending understanding of the changing earth, the cycles of life and living, the material world and relationships with nature
