The Ramsay Art Prize learning program assists educators in supporting students’ exploration, engagement, and understanding of contemporary Australian art. Learning programs are aligned with the Australian Curriculum: Visual Arts learning area, and connect to the general capabilities and cross curriculum priority areas.

EDUCATORS CONNECT - First Fridays
Educators and pre-service educators can immerse themselves in art and culture while networking with colleagues at Educators CONNECT, held during First Fridays at the Gallery. The events begin at 4.30pm with refreshments, and from 5pm experienced educators or arts professionals discuss potential curriculum connections to the Gallery’s current and coming exhibitions. There is also an opportunity for fun and creative ‘making’ sessions. Certificates of attendance provided.


EDUCATORS CONNECT in September - RETHINKING AUSTRALIAN ART

4:30pm - Connect over drinks and nibbles. Network among other educators
5 to 7pm - Curatorial tour of selected works in Re-thinking Australian Art and workshop activity responding to works viewed

Programs for early years, primary, secondary, TRT and pre-service educators offer valuable cross-curriculum learning opportunities and workshop experiences.
Participate in the Gallery's professional learning approach for educators. Enjoy Educators Connect events held during selected First Fridays that feature exhibition tours, workshops and refreshments. Join curators for exclusive Educators Briefings for major exhibitions. Certificates of attendance provided.
The $100 package includes the next eight professional learning events - a saving of $60 (attending single events + $20/event)

FASHION HISTORY AND ILLUSTRATION WORKSHOP

Take a journey through 300 years of fashion.
Participants join Rebecca Evans, Curator of Decorative Arts, to chart the history of fashionable dress through rarely seen garments from the collection and also investigate the stylish couture of Adelaide based designer Paul Vasileff as featured in the exhibition Paolo Sebastian: X
Referencing the garments, specifically construction, manufacture and silhouette, participate in drawing activities led by illustrator Sue Ninham.

TARNANTHI: Festival of Contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts and Culture

The TARNANTHI learning program assists educators in supporting students’ exploration, engagement, and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts and Culture. Learning programs are aligned with the Australian Curriculum: Visual Arts learning area, and connect to the general capabilities and cross curriculum priority areas.

Are you studying or teaching Visual Art or Design in 2017? Need inspiration to help students get started on their major works? Extend your critical thinking and be inspired by works of art in the collection in this one or two day workshop led by artists and educators. Workshops will include drawing, collage, sculpture, idea generation and art appreciation.
