Educators Connect TARNANTHI in the Port
Educators can immerse themselves in art making and networking with colleagues at Educators CONNECT, the Port Adelaide edition. This event will provide educators in the region with an opportunity to connect with the Gallery and its content. Join the education team for professional development aimed at engaging students with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander content using the collaborative work of art Kulila as inspiration. There will be an opportunity for a ‘making and responding’ session as well as resources to take away and implement in the classroom. Certificates of attendance will be provided.

Educators Connect in November - TARNANTHI
Immerse yourself in art and culture while networking with colleagues at First Friday. Join curators, educators and arts professionals for tours of TARNANTHI and participate in a fun and creative making session to use in your classrooms.

5 to 7pm - Artist talks & tour of selected works in TARNANTHI and workshop activity responding to works viewed

Teaching Aboriginal Art in the Classroom

With TARNANTHI as the backdrop, view works of art on display, engage in artist and curator talks and participate in workshops. This session will support educators in delivering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures content in an inclusive and meaningful way with a key focus on cultural understanding.

This one-day program will include:
- Presentation by Reconciliation South Australia
- Curator talks by Nici Cumpston and Lisa Slade
- Kaurna language session with Kira Bain from Tauondi Aboriginal College
- Seminar and workshop with artist and educator Darren Siwes

Kickstart 2018
Are you studying or teaching Visual Art or Design in 2017? Need inspiration to help students get started on their major works? Extend your critical thinking and be inspired by works of art in the collection in this one or two day workshop led by artists and educators. Workshops will include drawing, collage, sculpture, idea generation and art appreciation.

LEARNING LAUNCH 2018
Come along to our Learning Launch and discover what new opportunities await you and your students in 2018.
