This is the first major retrospective of photo-portraits by one of the 20th century's most admired and influential photographers, Henri Cartier-Bresson. Renowned for creating psychologically penetrating works, Cartier-Bresson’s portraits are taken 'tête à tête', or face to face, and are characterised by their unposed immediacy. Encompassing 60 years of work, Tête à Tête: Portraits by Henri Cartier-Bresson includes 120 perceptive portraits of many of the 20th century’s most important intellectual, artistic, religious and political figures.

Organised by the National Portrait Gallery, London and Magnum Photos, London, with the Australian tour managed by the Art Gallery of Western Australia.
